salad theory
I have a theory.
In my mind, the best salads are those in which you’re not just eating lettuce until you get to the end and there are all these tasty bits left. The best salads are where the lettuce-eating-boringness is offset by frequent explosions of flavour of the tasty bits. The key seems to be the size of the components.
If you have a salad in which all components are prefabricated into 1cm square pieces, you can get the optimum mix, and the least likelihood of having to eat lettuce by itself. Any smaller than that, you might as well chuck it in a blender, which would probably suck, but note to self, worth a try some time.
If anyone saw the blog post last week where I posted that Ninemsn had Santos recommended as a “reduce”, you’ll be eye-rolling at Money magazine this month (also published by Ninemsn), which has Santos as a “buy”. Goes to show I guess that ultimately nobody really knows what they’re doing? hahaha.
And it’s Nadia’s birthday tomorrow. Hopefully R&N should have Ken back today or tomorrow too.

Can confirm that Ken arrived and has now been safely restored to his former glory.
On the salad subject, Nad has come up with a much better idea than careful calculation of ingredient size compared with lettuce. She does a Greek salad that overcomes lettuce boringness by not adding any. It’s cherry toms, roughly chopped cucumber, chopped fetta and caps (and maybe something else I can’t recall atm) in balsamic vinaigrette. No lettuce boringness for us!
