[10:51] Rebekah Leong: but we have now clarified the situation.
[10:51] Rebekah Leong: and nobody believes we are married any more

[10:51] Rebekah Leong: actually, most of the khmer staff probably think we are married
[10:51] Rebekah Leong: we should probably just get hitched.
[10:51] Rebekah Leong: there’s plenty of people around who could do it.
[10:51] Rebekah Leong: and it would be so cheap!

Jealous?

Tales from the crypt yo

Holla folks. Take a seat, anywhere will do, and listen up: I’m talking here.

What’s news? The weekend was great, let me break it down:

Saturday, up bright and early for markets with Rob Wilson. I bought prawns and apples, plus the usual market-related food that one eats while walking around. Rob and I economised for breakfast, since Harvey’s is “Under New Management” and it has gone downhill. We had a Hot Hungarian sausage (settle down, Leyton) on a roll, with sauerkraut from the Chriberg butcher. Then Rob went to buy a fridge, and I went with to look around. I had work to do that afternoon, and then the boyz from the hood - possibly the whitest “hood” in history - came around and we walked to the football to see the Lions lose. Boo.

Sunday was mother’s day, and Mum was cut that we missed out on McDonalds breakfast due to a timing error, but I brought pikelets and Ice Break, so there’s a good breakfast right there. Had a nice day really - Karen and her kids visited, Chris and Celia visited, Gary and Ro visited which made for a very social day. I went with Woo down to the park to be his model plane “gopher” and made the decision that I wanted one too. I did a phenomenal (for me) amount of research, and decided on a ParkZone F-27B Stryker. It arrives this week, and I’m not denying that I’m excited. I’ll post some photos shortly of what it looks like.

Also Sunday I went to the movies with Dan, Tim and Leyton and saw 28 Weeks Later, which I’m sure you know is the sequel to 28 Days Later. Not bad, I quite enjoyed it, although I was disappointed that things got progressively worse because people didn’t just do what they were told. How hard is that?

Anyway, there was some talk of going to America this week, that’s not going to happen so soon. Still a “maybe” for very soon at no notice, but not this week I think.

kill me now

so while avoiding watching Big Brother today, at Mum and Dad’s place, Dad just came home and now we’re watching the recording made at his insistance. Hence the title of this post. I heard a quote the other day, I forget where, but it went something like this: “I’m sorry, it’s just that ‘remember when …’ is the lowest form of conversation”. I think the lowest form of conversation may in fact be “On Big Brother last night …”

Had a good afternoon - went out with Woo on his flying binge, and picked up Ben and Renae and brought them back to the park to enjoy some sillyness as well. Then dinner with Mum and Woo at the local fish and chip shop, although I don’t like the “fish and chips” element so much, but at least the burgers were good.

workin’

Can you believe another week has passed? I can’t.

Well obviously Sydney made me really sick - food poisoning or somesuch, and I was quite ill indeed on Friday. Leyton came around and we watched football, Heroes and Lost, after Woo picked me up from the airport. Saturday I went shopping at Carindale, visited M&D and then had dinner with Glara. We watched all 12 parts of R Kelly’s “Trapped in the Closet” which was pretty intense.

Sunday met up with Blacky and Glara at the Jazzy Cat for breaky. It’s under new management, which I wasn’t a big fan of. I dropped Blacky at the gabba for the football and entertained Charlotte with lame magic tricks until Kristian was finished at Laser Force down the road. Then they went home, and I headed north for an appearance at a family party in Aspley.

Monday when I woke up, I was boxed into my room - something Leyton had done the night before, presumably in retalliation for me throwing away his mattress in the hallway. Blacky made breakfast, and we did some work and watched some TV, and generally did nothing interesting.

But I’m sure everyone ELSE had an interesting long weekend. I just want another one of doing nothing, and soon please.

In Sydney

hey kids. I’ve been a busy day for the past few days getting ready for Sydney, but now I’m finally here it’s all good.

This morning, I was up at 6, doing last minute things, and in the car by 6:15am. At Mum and Dad’s for 6:30am (still on time) before getting held up in traffic and not checking in until 7:15am. Unfortunately this means I missed my flight, but there was another one an hour later that they put me on instead. Can you say “Whew!”?

Tuesday was a pretty big day, spent the morning working on stuff before I drove to M&D’s to pick up Woo and a trailer. Woo had kindly volunteered to help me chuck some stuff out, so I put him to good use and we threw out the pile of old timber, some other junk, and the mattresses that have been a feature of my hallway for the last 6 months+.

We then drove it all to the dump near Keperra, and home again to M&D’s for family night. Gary and Ro had visited earlier in the day and had stayed for dinner, so it was an “extended” family night, and quite nice. Mum excelled herself in terms of culinaria as usual. I love going home on Tuesdays.

There’s some discussion as to whether to get another dog, or not, to keep Simba company. Simba has been as cute as balls lately, by the way, and probably getting treated extra well as a result. It’s easy for us humans in our high-intellect world to assume that dogs want company, but in fact, Simba seems almost *better* alone, because there’s no competition for resources (pats, treats, food and the like). Also, he’s 8 now, and doesn’t neccessarily need to “play” anymore either - he seems content to sleep, eat and be patted. And that’s what he’s getting right now, so is another dog such a good idea?
