The ever increasing hospitalization

Who knows when I’ll be home? Not me.

Today the doc came back this evening, and had a look at my wound. I’ll try and not make this too graphic, but one of the dressings they put on/in it turns into a jelly-like wick when it gets wet. Normally this’d be fine, but it happened to form a plug in my belly, which when removed, caused more disgusting fluid to seep out.

So they took the rest of my stictches out, and now I have a massive hole, about 5cm long and about 1cm wide. It looks like a bulldog’s mouth. It’s not stuffed to the point of being uncomfortable with betadine-soaked gauze.

For those playing at home, the antibiotics I’m on now are (forgive the spelling) gentamiacin, kentamiacin, and fladgel.

My next best estimate for release is 3-5 nights.
