Hey, friends. Guess what I’m doing tomorrow night? I just bought a ticket to see Nancy Cartwright (the voice of Bart Simpson) at her live show in Brisbane. While I was browsing the QTIX site, it also struck me that Ross Noble is like, next week. Are people interested? If so, who? There’s only limited seats available Thurs-Sat, but Mon,Tues, Wed are still good. $37.75. Actually, Thursday just sold out if that makes any difference to anyone.

Uh, that’s pretty much it. Good weekend just gone - family get-together on Friday night for a family friend’s birthday, Saturday I visited Glenn and Lara, Sunday I watched Tv with Leyton, and went to M&Ds in the afternoon. Ah, fun times.

I”m on solid foods now, which is pretty good. Pasta is hard to eat with a band, so I’m going to remove that from my “regular” menu … it’s too hard to chew, too easy just to swallow noodles whole. I made that mistake once, and I’m pretty sure I won’t be repeating it if I can. What happens? You get this feeling of heartburn that is quite entreme, and lasts for about 10 minutes. Then you spit up a small quantity of undigested food, and the heartburn continues for another 30 minutes. Eventually you feel ok again, and promise never to do that again.

just checking in. now in xi’an and plane has (predictably) been delayed for the evening instead of a lunch time flight. so lots of free time in the city of the entombed warriors, the only complete city wall in china and the big goose pagoda (well, that’s what i think they said). the pagoda is in fact the pagoda at which the monk from monkey magic came from. apparently, the monk, but not the monkey, existed.
we also saw the farmer who found the first terracotta warrior in 1974 and reported it to the authorities. he was there signing autographs. he didn’t look rich, but at least well looked after. we are speculating as to whether it was the real mccoy or some stand in just for the sake of the tourists.

Sorry if people are getting double-ups lately in their email chuckler. I’m trying to fix that now.

Poker last night was way fun. We actually played two tournaments, and I won both! The first was Berny, Woo, Bryce, Steve, Blacky and I … Berny left after he got out because he had to go back to work. Then Brett arrived just in time to start another tournament. No deals were made, I walked away with $120.

I feel a whole lot better lately, which is a relief … I had wondered if I would spend the rest of my life in moderate discomfort, but that fear has abated. I have a post hospital visit with my surgeon this afternoon, I hope he’s happy with the way it looks.

I’m eating again now, and quite enjoying it. Only small quantites, and it has to be mashed at the moment, but it meant I enjoyed Foo last night for dinner. mmmm … Satay fish, Foo style. Goddamm that’s a good recipe.

I bought a new keyless entry doo-dad this morning for my car. I got a brand new one, Ford genuine … $91. Holy carp. $91! Bryce is getting one for his car from the wreckers, for $26. Still, I’m just glad to have a working beep-beep.

Finished PP’s January-March BAS this morning, so I’m pretty pleased with myself. I also have been working on a website for my dad, which is finally coming together, so I feel like I’ve achieved something of late.
