Picture blog, with more exciting tales to come!

Brek at the Noodle Bar we went to after seeing Serenity at El Dorado on Sunday before last.

Me and Blacky at the same noodle bar. Don’t let Blacky order anything with cabbage.

Ben’s 3rd Birthday party, Sunday last.

Blacky thinks he’s cool.

Oh, how could I forget, Saturday was Ben’s 3rd Birthday party! Was a nice little party :) The cake was a donut cake, decorated with Toy Story characters and smarties and yummy things. Plenty of delicious food as always. The paty pies and sausage rolls were scrumptious.

Silly me.

Crikey moses, It’s been nearly a month since I’ve written, and then WHAM, I sneak up on you and write this slab of a blog for ya’ll.

I don’t remember a whole heap of what happened since the 29th. I do recall however that I had 2 exams - one on the 3rd, one on the 8th. The first one was a 60 question multi-guess, which was relatively easy.

Then on the 5th was Michelle’s 21st Birthday. It started at a local pub with a bar tab. Sam and I went along, and it was crazy, cos I saw a bloke there I went to primary school with. We then continued on into the valley - Belushi’s specifically - where we danced and drank a bit more.

When I got home, I was drunk, and someone on the net asked me to shave my eyebrows off and take pics. So I did. No pics.

I’ve since been trying to regrow the brows, and they grow very slowly.

Had my last exam on the 8th, which was for a subject I was already passing, so that was a really nice one. Stayed around in the build bar afterwards and celebrated for a while, before bussing it home.

I’d been bored with no uni, no committments, no nothing to do, so quite frankly I had a serious case of cabin fever. I was going insane. So, last sunday, after 4 days of doing nothing, and being home alone, I got dressed and went to the Jazz Club. I’d heard the Brisbane Jazz Club were playing, so I went along to see what they were like. Was a nice night.

So that leaves me with this week. On Monday I rang up triple J to win tickets to see The Beautiful Girls. It was a “Live At The Wireless” gig, so you could only get tickets off the j’s, and was being broadcast on the radio. The show was really good, and I got a majority of it on video with my new camera. That finished, and we continued on to the valley, with a pit-stop at the Jubilee hotel for refreshments. Was quite a walk I tell ya!

First port of call was to Rics, to see Josh Pyke - a Sydney singer-songwriter - play. He was really good too, and I caught most of his set on video too, which will be nice to reminisce with. Meanwhile, Tim Rogers was playing at the Zoo, and Morgan was catching him there. We caught up afterwards at the Bowery and stayed until curfew when we got kicked out. I had my photo taken with Tim outside the Elephant and Wheelbarrow before we went to the Tivoli (early).

I cabbed it back to Morgo’s, and he kindly dropped me home afterwards. Thanks mate! We watched the vids of the night and they choofed off home.

Had Cebs on Friday night, which was interesting, as the locks had all been changed due to a break-in during the week. We got in after a few calls, and then the night continued as normal.

Saturday nothing really happened - recovered mostly. I took a REALLY early bed.

This morning mum and dad flew out to Hawaii (falf their luck) and we all drove them out there bright and early. I came home and went to bed. Go me. Not feeling too great, that’s why.

I had planned on going to Rocky this week to visit Jake while nobody’s home, but I don’t think it’ll happen most unfortunately. :( Barara goes home tomorrow, and then I’ll be home alone again.

However, Paul Mac is playing at the Tivoli with Hermitude on Thursday night, and I would very much like to go. Anybody up?

Friday blogitude

Friday, November 18th, 2005

Well, I’m pretty exhausted right now … it’s been a big week.

I stayed up to watch the soccer, of course, on Wednesday, but I didn’t go out for it. Going out is just so … expensive. I stayed home and watched it in bed, and it was good. I got a major case of the munchies though, and I offered to pick Blacky up from town afterwards, so that I could have an excuse to get junk food on the way. :happysad:

Thursday I had lunch with Leyton - I’d slept in, and had one of those panic attacks when you think you’ve missed something you were supposed to do, but it turned out to only be 11:30am, so it wasn’t as bad as I thought. We talked bidness, ate pizza and then I rehydrated myself with cordial as we watched 30 Days. Not a bad show, but also not exactly “good”.

Today is Friday, and Leyts and I are watching the latest episode of Lost for lunch. I have a funeral to attend this afternoon, and then tonight there’s a M&D thing, and Barbara is back for a day or so tonight.

Saturday is my second cousin Ben’s 3rd birthday. I forget the timing exactly on that, but it’s probably afternoon-ish. Sunday is the Roar home game, and in advance of that, a Sunday Lunch Club would be nice if people are keen. I was thinking perhaps of a nice cafe somewhere - maybe Harvey’s in New Farm or somewhere cheaper.

We’re currently running a Samsung promo at work to get people to buy up big on Samsung products, so that we meet the sales target for Samsung to pay for our christmas party. So far, things are on track, but if anyone needs a new printer, laptop or LCD monitor, please let me know, you’d really help us out :)

Photos from Life

Please bear with me, I’m still learning how to use this camera, so the pictures suck a bit …

We were a Loooooong way away.

At Glara’s place, while Linda “watched” The Bill and Glenn and I were bored.

Linda plays with my camera (not a euphamism) and takes this quite good shot of Lara.

Brek, Blacky and I hit Foo for SLC. Leyton (to his chagrin) wasn’t invited, not out of rudeness, but out of consideration for his sleep schedule.
Really bad photo, light from the back.

Pavarotti Stadium at intermission.

Me and Dad at Pavarotti. Another bad photo.

Me and Danielle at “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” at Southbank Cinemas. Great movie.

Would you trust this man?

Another, bigger, Photo-Blog post in a little while.

Another post!

I know, I know, can you believe it?

I was thinking about what I’d like to do this weekend, and this seemed like as good a venue as any to discuss such things.

Tonight is Dad’s party at M&D’s place … G&R are coming, and G is coooking, so that’ll be good. The rest of the weekend is pretty open. Oh except for a VERY annoying PPC’s function … I don’t even work there, and I still need to go to the staff BBQs, which have only recently started becoming monthly or bi-monthly. At least I get to eat for free, financially, but it still takes my prescious weekend time away. I think that’s Sunday, so I’m out for any and all lunch club activities, except maybe post-lunch club activities.

There’s some good looking movies out at the moment … I especially would like to see Flightplan and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. These both look excellent. I tried calling Danielle last night, to see if she would be interested, but she was on the phone, so I didn’t get through, and then I forgot to call back. :sadwavey:

Did I mention that I’ve built a “new” computer. It was a little embarrassing, at first, when I couldn’t get it to work  but then it all came good with a little 3rd-person perspective from the gay man.

HB2 Dad!

Hey Hey! Ho Ho! Get all outta that damn thing.

Ahem. I don’t know where that came from … so it’s been a while between drinks here on the ol’ blog, so I thought I’d get in and get at least a retrospective entry today, and a “this weekend” entry tomorrow, because two entries isn’t THAT bad.

Let’s see … last weekend was pretty good. Friday I went to Glenn and Lara’s … I think it was Friday … no, that was Saturday. I know that because Linda made us watch The Bill. Friday was Turbocharged Beers night at the casa, and we watched The Recruit on television. I had intended to catch The Glass House encore presentation at 11:30pm, but fell asleep. Bummer.

So, now we can talk Saturday. I did nothing all day (except for two loads of washing, so it wasn’t a total write-off) and then went to Glara’s that evening. I made Bread and Butter pudding, which is now my new dish, and Glenn made pizzas, for which he has some serious experience.

Sunday I had lunch with Blacky and Brek, and then I sat around watching the cricket replay, all the while thinking that I really should have a nap.

Tuesday was the Pavarotti concert, which was great. The only thing I was disappointed in was the lack of “popular” classics … he did Ave Maria and O Sole Mio but I would’ve liked more in this vain. Parking was a nightmare. Que sera sera.

Today is my dear old (and now slightly older) Dad’s birthday. I rocked up at M&D’s for our traditional “Someone’s having a birthday” breakfast, only to find that dad had already left. I hope he enjoyed the breakfast that I so dilligently made for him. :teehee:

Poker Confirmation

Friday, November 4th, 2005

So, peeps, the poker night at my cousin’s place is Saturday night. Is anyone still free? Rumour has it that Leyton and Blacky are off doing something :gay: together, so they might not be able to join us. What about the rest of ya?

It’s been a pretty good week for me, I guess - busy as all getout, but in a good way.

Last night I went to M&D’s to visit Mum after her surgery on Wednesday. We had rooter for tea, and Stafford Red Rooster screwed us in the drivethrough by shortchanging us a large coleslaw. Bastidos.

I also had a yarn with Godez last night, he’s looking forward to the trip away too, asked how everyone was doing.

Sunday Lunch Club this week, anyone? Anyone?

Poker Night

Thursday, November 3rd, 2005

Dudes dudes dudes … this weekend my cousin Berny is having a poker night, while his kids and wife are away. BYO drinks. I’m not sure right now if it’s Friday or Saturday, but I’ll let you know when it’s confirmed one way or other.
