So, in the last 2 days, a whole lot seems to have happened! Isabel came over for a few hours while she and Dennis were down in Brisbane, the Corolla has been nearly restored to its stock standard condition, and the painting on the roof has nearly been finished!
Berny and I went to an auction today. It was a public trustee’s auction of mostly recovered stolen goods and deceased estates. There were only really a couple of things that had any interest to me, namely a desktop lighter but slightly different to the one pictured. Berny got a few things, but I didn’t get anything.
Today I went for a ride. I kinda pedalled aimlessly for 15 minutes and came across a bike shop at Chermside. My chain had been jumping and being funny, and I need new wheels, so I went in and made some enquiries, and he helped me out and got the bike running fairly well again! I need new wheels ($110 for a pair) and new pedals, and I’ll be all ship-shape again. I stopped in at Jess’s, and noone was home there, so I set another destination - Jake’s old house at Clayfield.
Much as I’d expected, nobody was home there, so I went on to Toombul shopping centre, and continued on my merry way home. About 20k’s or so.
Tonight I’m going to a fundraising concert for a girl that’s going to russia for some research. It sounds as though it could be good, here’s hoping.
