I am quite glad that’s out of the way. Look, folks, I’ve been mad busy just lately, so the entries to the ol’ blog have gotten more and more sporadic. But this I vow: from now until the 1st March, you will get one entry every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Brisbane time, as long as I’m at work.
You see, dear reader, I am now semi-retired, and no longer work Mondays. Hurrah! So far, I’ve enjoyed one delicious Monday off - yesterday - and it was spent in very productive fashion: I woke quite early, and got to work on a couple of my pet project websites. I then enjoyed enjoyed a cooked lunch - vegetarian pasta, made with the Latina variety of fresh pasta, which is apparently better for you, as well as more delicious than dried pasta, and ate it in good spirits while the cricket played out. That was a GREAT afternoon. I pulled apart M&D’s PC that afternoon - I’m upgrading it - and found some ways to get better upgrading bang for buck. Leyton came around for dinner and the second innings (dinner was Duck and Porcini sausages with salad) and we also worked on the website. Great day.
Great weekend actually - so much good stuff. Saturday I went to the markets, and itwas just Rob & Nadia and myself. I bought some fabulous food, and had a great breakfast with them. Alan and Liza’s engagement was that evening, and I had to buy and wrap a present, and that took most of the afternoon. It was a really nice party, but not what I expected for some reason. I even got to take a bottle of wine home. Thanks Alan! (oh and congrats etc)
Sunday was a bit of an R&R day, but it was great - people congregated at the Gabba house, Glara + mini-Glara, Brek, Leyton, Blacky and myself all had a great chinwag. Glara loaned me their new DVDs of Little Britain, which I’m enjoying watching. It’s accurately described by one of them as “like The Office, but silly humour”. It’s great.
Mini-Glara was getting restless, so they weren’t able to join us for dinner at Montezuma’s. I took a break from tradition and had something I’d never had before, which I can’t remember now, except to say that it was 2 tostadas and salad. Deliciosa con sangria!
