Stupid Vegas

Can you believe it’s Friday already? How fabulous is that? And a market day tomorrow to boot. Ah, contentment.

So yesterday I went to the valley to get my car assessed for repairs, and it’s all approved etc, so it’ll be going in for repairs next Thursday. Took a while, but I’m glad that’s sorted.

Today I’m having lunch with Leyton and Tim, and it’s my turn for buying. Red Rooster is on the menu, I’l leaning towards a tropical pack or a quarter chicken and chips, despite not really liking chips. I’ve ranted long and in earnest on this topic before, so excuse me for not going into it in depth again.

We got screwed slightly on the USA Trip 05 front - Las Vegas is expecting 135 000 people to attend the CONEXPO-CON (the construction and construction materials industries convention) from the 15-19 March. Hotel prices have increased to correspond with this - US$400 per night at most hotels on the strip. We were planning on being there on the nights on the 13th, 14th and 15th, which is right on the ramp-up of the stupid prices, so it looks like we’ll be staying off-strip. Not too bad, but while I was hoping to pay US$100 per night is more likely. That sucks.
