Survivor All Stars: Pathetic Cry Babies

Tuesday, May 11th, 2004

Right. Survivor All Stars turned into a hissy-fit competition. Very annoying. I’m specifically not going to say who won in case people taped it and are waiting for tonight or whatever, but everyone knows that Lex and Big Tom are out already. What a pair of babies. Never heard such pathetic bitching.

Bryce came around last night for Survivor, pizza and beer. It was a good night. Except for the cry babies.

It’s a very emoticon kinda day today, can you feel it? I took my car in for a service today which meant an early morning wake up call. I’m extremely proud that I saved $8 by catching the bus to work instead of a cab, and I’ll save ANOTHER $8 catching a bus back to car-central. Huzzah.

What else is new? John and I did Sopranos on Saturday, which was cool. He’d made curry, and I’d made rice and if that sounds like a match made in heaven, you’re right. This paragraph was a lot more :naughty: before I rewrote it.

That’s all I’ve got. Maybe having lunch with Leyts today, and helping him catch up another hour on 24. It’s a tough journey, but I think it’s worth it.

:fingersx: confusion

Friday, May 7th, 2004

Hi, you may or may not be aware that you can subscribe to your daily dose of Chuckler’s Musings and have them delivered direct to your mailbox. Occasionally, however, I will post pictures which you will not be able to see (you get a bunch of HTML code and a link to see the proper entry), or I will include emoticons, which you will also not be able to see (you see a code enclosed in :s like :someword:).

Which leads me to fingersx. There was some confusion yesterday for my dear and special friends, the Mailing Listers, as to what this meant. It’s a little guy wih his fingers crossed. That’s it, there’s nothing lewd about it. :fingersx:

The same cannot be said about their close friend, :jerkit: “jerkit”, but that’s another story.

Ok, so soccer last night. Ugh. We were 5 in number, and although we were 3-2 up at the end of the first half, eventually numbers came into it, and we finished 8-4 down. They just had too many shots, some of them were bound to go in. It’s probability.

Markets tomorrow. I’m going to ring Rob RIGHT NOW to get his official “not going” :gay:ness, but John and Tina might be interested. Also this weekend, I really want to get some Sopranos action. That’d be tops.

Summarizing

Thursday, May 6th, 2004

Hey Chuckateers, I’m sorry to have neglected you yesterday.

It’s been a pretty good week thus-far, but I’m looking forward to the weekend. Markets on Saturday, I know that Rob and Nadia aren’t going though, so I’m not sure I’ll go. If anyone else is interested, please let me know. :fingersx:

Let’s see … after family night on Tuesday I headed into work. I had to make a call at around midnight, and it’s easier to stay awake at work than it is at home where my comfy bed beckons. “Just 5 minutes,” I say to myself, but that never works. Even if I program an alarm, there’s no way to tell that I won’t just wake up and turn the alarm off and drift off to sleep. Besides, work has faster internet.

And free phones. I called Godez for a bit of a yarn, and as usual had fun doing it.

I’ve been having lunch with Leyton more often lately, as he’s catching up on 24, and it’s more fun with someone else to make fun of it with you. It’s been cool, I’m getting to relive great chunks of it.

Tonight soccer is a 6:45pm game, and I’m down. Haven’t heard anything from Fri Thai as yet, but there’s still a day to go.

Poker Champion of the World

Just enough time to tap off a quick entry before lunch.

So, Fri Thai on Friday night was good. Blacky came along, and we all feasted on Thai from Thai Phoenix, perhaps the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane. Chris is back from teaching English in Japan so there was a festive spirit in the air.

Saturday was Glenn’s poker day, and permit me to gloat: I won. Big time. Bryce was first out, tousling large bets with Stavros three times, and losing three times. Ouch. Glenn followed soon after, then Blacky and Stavros and I went head to head. I won.

Was a great day, we need to do the poker thing at least once per month. It’s fun. Stavros had brough his new girl Liza along, and she seemed nice. As Lara pointed out, she even laughed at our jokes, so that’s not entirely bad. Still, Stavros continued showing her his cards, despite her woeful poker face, and that perhaps was his downfall poker-wise. Oh well. We all played some Asshole afterwards and smoked stogies.

Saturday night was a night in, watching the traversty of the Lion’s loss to St Kilda. Was going to be a great win, until the goal umpire proved that he was FRIGGIN BLIND  That left a bad taste in my mouth, and I’m sure every Lions fan agrees.

Sunday was a work day, followed by watching the Broncos lose, Big Brother’s lame-ass secret, and the return of Criminal Intent. Yay Gorran!

Monday was a BBQ at my place for Leyton’s birthday. He might be persuaded to write something about that, so I won’t say much more. I’m going to his place now for lunch, so I’ll put the screws on him to write an entry extolling his wonderful friends and the BBQ they had.
